Are you practically minded, enjoy getting hands-on with equipment and fancy a role that offers a bit of variety? We're looking for a reliable and practical Workshop Engineer & Driver to join a busy team, combining workshop-based engineering duties with deliveries, collections and occasional on-site support.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a good mechanical aptitude, an interest in electrical equipment a full, clean UK driving licence along with experience of driving large vans and a hands-on approach to work. You'll play an important part in making sure equipment is serviced, tested, prepared and delivered safely and efficiently to customers.
Salary £34K depending on experience
As a Workshop Engineer & Driver your responsibilities will include,

  • Servicing, inspecting and maintaining a range of climate control and power equipment
  • Carrying out PAT testing and electrical safety checks
  • Cleaning, preparing and testing equipment ready for dispatch
  • Investigating faults, assessing returned equipment and assisting with repairs
  • Delivering and collecting equipment from customer sites, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
  • Loading and unloading vehicles and helping to keep workshop and warehouse areas organised
  • Supporting stock control and stock takes
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles are kept in a safe condition
  • Occasionally assisting engineers with equipment installations and on-site project work
  • Following health and safety procedures and representing the business professionally when visiting customers

What are we looking for?


We're keen to hear from someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys getting stuck in. You'll ideally have:

  • Good mechanical and practical skills
  • Some basic electrical knowledge, or a genuine willingness to learn
  • A keen eye for detail and a sensible approach to health and safety
  • Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
  • The ability to work independently as well as being a team player
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential

The added extras!
Experience in engineering, equipment hire, construction or a similar environment would be useful, although it's not essential. Any experience of PAT testing, forklift operation, driving long-wheelbase vans or working with temporary power and climate control equipment would also be a bonus.
What's important is your attitude, practical ability and willingness to learn.
